We proudly announce that the International Journal of Ceramic Engineering & Science is now included in the Web of Science. A thorough analysis by Clarivate recognized the seriousness and impacting nature of IJCES, and articles starting from Volume 4 will be in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). This news is a welcome addition to IJCES’ “badges-of-honor,” which include being indexed in both the the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Scopus indices.

Being indexed in ESCI opens up IJCES to new authors, particularly those for whom publishing in journals listed in the Web of Science is a requirement.

According to Ricardo Castro, editor-in-chief of IJCES, “This is a natural consequence of the hard work we have been putting into this transformative publishing platform. IJCES is not just ‘another’ journal, but a new way to think about publishing ceramics research.

IJCES is currently publishing Volume 6. Reflecting its broad scope, its articles report research and perspectives on a wide range of topics in ceramics and glass research.  Examples include use of local resources for producing consumer products to exploring and reproducing ancient colorants in paintings and ceramic household goods.

In addition, IJCES provides a forum for publication of articles from historically underserved communities. For example, in an arrangement with the International Conference on Ceramics and Geomaterials in Central Africa (CGCA) held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, late last year, IJCES is welcoming submissions from presenting authors, with many already in the review cycle.

Castro continues, “With this indexing, IJCES is poised to receive its official Journal Impact Factor, which we anticipate will reflect the quality and relevance the journal brings to the field.”

Among the most popular articles published in IJCES are
